Thomas Altamirano is an Austin based interior designer by way of New York City. Upon graduating from Colorado State University with a BS in Interior Design in 2005, Thomas moved to New York City to work at nationally and internationally recognized firms. It's here where he developed his strong design foundation with project experiences varying from large workplace environments, retail and commercial spaces, to high end residential developments. In 2009 He founded his design practice Studio Alta. For over the last 10 years Thomas has been evolving his portfolio and experience with diverse projects all the while consulting and developing alliances with other firms, designers and makers. Thomas's curiosity and ambition to experience all avenues of design has led him to diverse positions such as lead designer for HGTV's High Low Project along with creative director for some of IIDA's (International Interior Design Association's) largest events. His hands-on roots in art and home building can also be seen in many of Studio Alta's projects through custom art installations, hand painted murals and custom furniture. It's through this versatility that allows Thomas to move easily from strong commercial interiors to playful, yet stylish, residences.
